Drop Everything And Read - D.E.A.R.
The D.E.A.R initiative is a great way to help your children develop a life long love of reading. Forms are sent home each month so children can participate at home. Simply read with your child or have them read alone for at least 15 minutes every day. If they read at least 20 times each month, mark the days on the calendar, make sure their name and teacher's name are on their sheet, then turn them in for the monthly drawing. Pictured above are some of the kindergarten students that have participated in D.E.A.R. Students in kindergarten have been receiving a 'Book It' coupon for Pizza Hut each time they return their DEAR calendar. There were 24 students that received a coupon in October, 22 students in November, and 18 students for the month of December.
